Operation Whiskey Dweller, Caboolture South

Detectives have charged a man with murder and extradited him from New South Wales after a 60-year-old man was found deceased in Caboolture South on Sunday, December 1.

Police were called to a commercial storage facility on Morayfield Road around 11.45am where they located a 60-year-old Caboolture man dead inside a caravan that was being stored at the facility.

Detectives from Caboolture Criminal Investigation Branch, supported by the Homicide Squad, established investigations into the circumstances of the death under Operation Whiskey Dweller.

Investigations led police to establish that the man had been allegedly assaulted and moved into the caravan earlier that day by another man that is known to him.

This man left the area prior to police attending but with the assistance of New South Wales detectives, police located him at a motel in Ballina this morning, December 5, where he was subsequently arrested.

A 47-year-old Caboolture man has been charged with one count of murder – domestic violence offence and appeared in Ballina Local Court this morning to face extradition proceedings.

He has been remanded in custody and is being transported to the Caboolture Magistrates Court where he is expected to appear tomorrow, December 6.
