Operation Xray Poll Targets High-Risk Offenders

Officers from South Brisbane District including the Tactical Crime Squads have charged 13 people with 23 domestic violence offences during the last week.

Between January 20 and January 24, police conducted Operation Xray Poll to identify high risk, high harm perpetrators wanted for Domestic and Family Violence related criminal offences in the Bayside area, including Russell, Macleay and North Stradbroke Islands.

On January 21, officers from the Inala Tactical Crime Squad executed a search warrant for a 49-year-old Alexandra Hills man, after he allegedly contravened a domestic violence order in December 2024.

He was charged with one count each of contravene direction of requirement by a police officers and contravention of a domestic violence order (aggravated offence).

The man was refused bail and was scheduled to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on January 22.

Inspector Wayne Clayton from the South Brisbane District said prioritising victim-survivor safety and holding perpetrators of domestic and family violence is a priority for police.

"Everyone deserves to be safe and feel safe and live free from the threat or experience of domestic and family violence and we want victim-survivors to know that police will not tolerate this type of unacceptable offending, and there is support available for anyone experiencing domestic and family violence," Inspector Clayton said.

"If you need to talk to someone, you can visit a station which have DFV safe rooms or quiet spaces, or you can make a report online.

"Anyone who thinks they're above the law and commits these offences should know it doesn't matter what corner of the state you live in, we will ensure you are brought before a court and held accountable."

Operation Xray Poll will continue through the District.
