Invests $500,000 in mobile coverage across Nambucca Valley
Optus today announced it will continue to improve mobile coverage across the Nambucca Valley after switching on a new mobile tower in Valla Beach.
The new tower will provide improved 4G mobile coverage and capacity for residents and visitors across the region to make and receive calls, texts and access mobile data.
Optus Territory General Manager for North West New South Wales, Chris Simon said, the site will provide dedicated 4G mobile coverage to locals and tourists just in time for the festive season.
We understand the importance for holiday destinations such as Valla Beach to have dedicated mobile reception and were committed to providing great coverage to our customers across the Nambucca Valley.
This financial year, Optus has invested more than $500,000 in its mobile network across the Nambucca Valley, working with local communities to improve mobile coverage in their local area.
The new tower at Valla Beach will provide enhanced coverage along the Pacific Highway, just in time for the Christmas rush, Mr Simon added.
The Optus mobile network handles over 31 million calls and 80 million SMS messages each day and carries 16,128 terabytes of data each week. Optus is continuing to expand and strengthen its network to deliver improved data and voice services across metropolitan, regional and remote locations nationally.
