Plans to invest $2 million in mobile coverage across Murray and Mallee region
Optus today announced it will continue to improve mobile coverage across the Murray and Mallee region after switching on new mobile sites at Tintinara East, Truro Township and Cooke Plains.
Optus Territory Manager for the Regional South Australia, Rob Seymour said, Optus was continuing to work with local communities to improve mobile coverage in their local area.
This financial year, Optus has plans to invest a further $2 million in its mobile network across the Murray and Mallee region.
Were committed to providing great coverage to our customers in and around the Murray and Mallee region with plans to build new sites in Tintinara, Cadell, Mindarie, Tailem Bend East and Wynarka, Waikeire Township.
Optus is providing some of these regional communities with dedicated mobile coverage for the very first time, providing a competitive telecommunications alternative for local residents and businesses, Mr Seymour added.
The Optus mobile network handles over 31 million calls and 80 million SMS messages each day and carries 16,128 terabytes of data each week. Optus is continuing to expand and strengthen its network to deliver improved data and voice services across metropolitan, regional and remote locations nationally.
