The in-flight roaming service is available to customers on our Choice Plus plans as part of the Optus Daily Roaming add-on, which allows customers to use 5GB both in-flight and in over 110 global destinations within a 24-hour period for $5. And with Optus Daily Roaming automatically turned on, its a hassle-free, cost-effective solution for travellers who want a convenient way to stay in touch.

Using inflight roaming is simple. Passengers keep their devices in airplane mode during take-off. Once the crew confirms it is safe, they can switch off airplane mode and get connected.

The unique technology behind this service uses satellite connectivity to link customers devices to AeroMobiles network.

AeroMobiles Senior Manager, Connectivity Roaming, Mark Nash said: We are proud to help Optus customers get connected at cruising altitude. Our relationship ensures affordable in-flight connectivity for travellers on eligible Optus plans.

Passengers can talk, text, and email from 20,000 feet, communicating with ease from above the clouds.

Customers using Optus Daily Roaming in-flight with an AeroMobile enabled airline can continue using any remaining inclusions for the rest of the day when they land in a Zone 1 destination within 24 hours of activating roaming - without the hassle of switching SIM cards.
