Optus has switched on a new tower in Pomonal as a part of the Victorian Governments Mobile Black Spot Project, bringing dedicated Optus coverage to the town and its surrounds for the first time.
The site, which is co-located on an existing NBN Co site, will play a key role in providing dedicated mobile reception to more than 300 residents in town and along Stawell and Ararat Road.
Optus Mobile Access Planning Manager, Vin Mullins, said, Its fantastic to be able to deliver dedicated Optus mobile coverage to the Pomonal community for the first time, enabling residents to stay connected with their friends and family through reliable voice and data access.
This tower was included as part of the Program following feedback from the local council and community, to improve mobile coverage that will help with emergencies and local tourism.
With tourism hotspot Halls Gap located adjacent to Pomonal, this site will not only provide dedicated coverage for those in town but also for visitors traveling through the region.
