Optus has switched on a new tower in Dale River as part of the Australian Governments Mobile Black Spot Program, strengthening coverage between Brookton and Perth.
The macrocell station, located at Westdale, will improve coverage across 68 square kilometres, including 16 kilometres of major roads, and will provide local communities and travellers with improved network capacity.
Paul ONeill, Optus Territory General Manager for Western Australia, said Optus is committed to giving customers in the Beverley and Brookton Shire, and those across Western Australia, access to mobile coverage and internet.
This site will improve connectivity for people travelling on the Brookton Highway, a major arterial road that links the West Coast and Brookton and is used by hundreds of people each day, he said.
It also means the local community will have much-needed access to our network, bringing connectivity, competition and choice to those living and working in the region.
Optus continues to invest to improve coverage, reliability, and speed across its mobile network, with this new tower providing connectivity for residents and businesses in the local communities, Paul concluded.
The investment in expanding Optus telecommunications infrastructure and mobile coverage is supported by the Australian Governments Mobile Black Spot Program.
