Organised Crime Squad Detectives Charge Casino Employee With Rigging Bets

Organised Crime Squad detectives have charged a Sydney casino employee and another man with allegedly rigging multiple roulette games.

In October 2023, detectives attached to State Crime Command's Organised Crime Squad's Casino and Racing Unit established Strike Force Antree to investigation corrupt and illegal conduct in NSW casinos.

During the investigation, strike force detectives identified a Sydney casino dealer and another man allegedly working together to rig roulette bets between September and October 2023.

Following extensive investigations, strike force investigators charged a 23-year-old man – and Sydney casino employee – and a 22-year-old man with facilitate conduct that corrupts betting outcome of event and obtain/attempt to, benefit in casino by dishonest means.

They were both issued future court attendance notices to appear before Downing Centre Local Court on Friday 1 November 2024.

Detectives will allege in court the men would move bets after the roulette result had occurred and that the men had done this on multiple occasions earning over $25,000.

Investigations under Strike Force Antree continue.
