It's time to dust off the togs and dive into some free fun as Mitchell Shire's outdoor pools open from Saturday 4 December.
Whether you're planning to brush up on your butterfly in a 50-metre pool or just want a relaxing place to catch up with friends and family, Mitchell Leisure Services has you covered.
The Broadford Outdoor Pool, Seymour War Memorial Outdoor Pool, the Tallarook Outdoor Pool and the Community Bank® Adventure Playground Splash Park at Hadfield Park in Wallan will all open on Saturday 4 December.
The outdoor pools will open every day when the air temperature forecast by the Bureau of Meteorology reaches 26 degrees or higher.
Once open, operating hours may vary in response to temperature and patronage and the pools may be closed for safety reasons, including dangerous weather conditions, sometimes at very short notice.
All guests older than 12 years and 2 months will be required to show proof of double vaccination to enter the pools.
Lifeguards will be ready to help keep everyone safe, but it is the responsibility of parents and guardians to provide direct supervision for children.
All children under the age of 10 must be actively supervised by a responsible adult as part of Council's Watch Around Water policy. Children under-5 must be within arm's reach of a supervising adult at all times. Unsupervised children of any age will be removed from the water if the lifeguard is concerned for their safety.
While entry is free for casual use of Council's pools, user group hire fees, special event entry fees and entry fees to the indoor aquatic facilities will still apply.
