Over 40 To Appear In QLD Courts Today

QLD Courts Data

On September 4, Queensland's magistrates courts will be busy, with over 43 scheduled to appear across the state.

These appearances reflect the busy daily operation of the courts in various regions.

Appearances under suppression or non-publication orders are not included in the figure. Suppression orders restrict the disclosure of information that would normally be accessible to the public in an open court setting.

In order of the number of cases, from highest to lowest, the court appearances per magistrates court are as follows:

Open justice ensures that justice is not only done but seen to be done, providing transparency in the workings of Australia's court system. This public access builds trust and accountability.

However, when openness risks undermining justice, courts may issue suppression or non-publication orders to protect sensitive details. These measures balance transparency with the need to safeguard justice and individual rights.

Every effort has been made to comply with non-publication (suppression) orders or statutory provisions prohibiting publication that may apply to this information.
