Police are seeking to reunite a quantity of cash located in a taxi on 14 June with its owner.
Officers were told a taxi driver located the substantial amount of money during a routine clean of the taxi.
The driver promptly attended Moorabbin police station and handed over the cash to police.
It is understood the driver had driven the taxi across numerous suburbs of metropolitan Melbourne for several days prior to locating the money.
Police would like to return the money to its rightful owner.
Evidence of ownership, the specific amount of money and knowledge of its packaging will be required when contacting Moorabbin Police Station on 9556 6565.
