P-Plate Driver Charged With High-Range PCA After Lilyfield Crash

A p-plate driver has been charged after being involved in a motor vehicle crash in Sydney's inner west earlier this week.

About 5.30am on Monday (26 August 2024), police were called to Balmain Road, Lilyfield, following reports of a crash.

Officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command attended and found an Infiniti sedan had collided into seven parked cars.

The 24-year-old female driver of the Infiniti was subjected to a roadside breath test, which allegedly returned a positive result.

She was arrested and taken to Petersham Police Station, where a secondary breath analysis was conducted and returned an alleged reading of 0.162.

She was also subjected to a roadside drug test and allegedly returned a positive result to cocaine. The test has been sent for further forensic examination.

The 24-year-old woman was issued a field court attendance notice for drive with high range PCA and drive with high range PCA and illicit drug.

She is due to appear before Downing Centre Local Court on Monday 18 November 2024.

Her provisional licence was suspended immediately.
