A man will face court today after a car was allegedly detected travelling more than 140km/h over the speed limit on the Central Coast last night.
About 9.10pm (Thursday 1 August 2024), police were conducting speed-enforcement duties on Hakone Road, Woongarrah, when they allegedly detected a Toyota Camry travelling at 192km/h in a signposted 50km/h area.
Following inquiries by officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Highway Patrol, the driver of the vehicle – an 18-year-old man, was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for drive at a speed dangerous, and P1 driver exceed speed limit - over 45Km/h - RADAR.
The Hamlyn Terrace man will appear before Wyong Local Court on Monday 2 September 2024.
Police also suspended the man's licence on the spot.
