P2 driver charged after pursuit at Dubbo

A P2 driver has been charged following a police pursuit in the state's Central West on the weekend.

About 11.20pm on Saturday (11 September 2021), officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District were patrolling the township when they attempted to stop white Ford Falcon on Alfred Street, Dubbo, however it failed to stop.

A pursuit was initiated throughout Dubbo and continued to Narromine, where it was terminated due to safety concerns.

A short time later, officers arrested a man exiting the same vehicle in Bell Bird Way, Dubbo. The man was subjected to a random breath test, returning a positive result.

The driver, a 19-year-old man was taken to Dubbo Police Station and charged with police pursuit - not stop - drive dangerously and special category driver drive with special range PCA.

He was given a court attendance notice to appear at Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday 27 October 2021.
