P2 Driver Nabbed 53km/h Over Limit Near Glen Innes

A man has been charged with low-range drink driving and speeding in the state's Northern Tablelands.

About 3.30pm on Sunday (11 August 2024), officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol were patrolling the New England Highway, Dundee, about 40km north of Glenn Innes, when a white Honda sedan was allegedly detected travelling 153km/h in a signposted 100km/h area.

Police stopped the P2 driver – man aged 33 - and conducted a roadside breath test, allegedly returning a positive result.

Police also checked the car and there was no P plates displayed.

The man was arrested and taken to Glenn Innes Police Station, where he underwent breath analysis which returned an alleged reading of 0.055.

He was issued with an infringements notices for drive with low range PCA, P2 driver exceed speed over 45km/h, not comply P2 licence condition not display P plates, and his licence was suspended.
