Geelong Divisional Response Unit have charged a man and a woman after three police officers were allegedly assaulted in Grovedale on Monday.
Police allegedly spotted a stolen grey Ford utility driving in convoy with a stolen black Subaru station wagon along the Surf Coast Highway about 10am.
Officers allegedly attempted to intercept the utility on Peter Street in Grovedale before the station wagon drove at police and hit an officer.
The male senior constable sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
During the arrest, two more police officers were assaulted and sustained minor injuries.
They were taken to hospital for treatment.
A 28-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were arrested at the scene.
The Ararat man has been charged with aggravated intentional exposure of police officer to risk by driving, assault, theft of motor vehicle and resist police.
He has been remanded to appear at Geelong Magistrates' Court later today.
The Norlane woman has been charged with aggravated intentional exposure of police officer to risk by driving, theft of motor vehicle, assault, resist police and drug offences.
She has been remanded to appear at Geelong Magistrates' Court later today.
