Pair Charged in Niddrie Aggravated Carjacking

Two men have been charged following an alleged aggravated carjacking in Niddrie on Wednesday, 15 January.

It is alleged a man parked his BMW sedan outside a property on Keilor Road, when two men allegedly threatened him with a knife and demanded his car about 11.40am.

The pair got into the sedan and took off, leaving the 34-year-old Niddrie victim behind.

He was not injured.

The sedan also crashed into two cars at a supermarket carpark on Buckley Street in Aberfeldie about 12pm.

The BMW drove to a shopping centre carpark on High Street before the pair allegedly dumped the car and fled the scene on foot.

Following a short foot pursuit, both men were arrested a short time later.

A 34-year-old Keilor East man has been charged with aggravated carjacking and theft of motor vehicle.

A 27-year-old Berwick man has been charged with aggravated carjacking and theft of motor vehicle.

Both men have been remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrate's Court on 16 April.
