Palmer slams Labor over citizenship ceremony 'abuse'

The Trumpet of Patriots has condemned the Albanese Government's handling of citizenship ceremonies, accusing it of using them as campaign events to boost Labor's electoral chances.
The controversy comes amid criticism that Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke has orchestrated a sudden wave of mass citizenship ceremonies, with 12,000 new Australians granted citizenship in the past two weeks-just as an election is expected to be called.
Concerns have also been raised over allegations that only Labor MPs were invited to officiate at the events.
Trumpet of Patriots chairman Clive Palmer said the move was a disgrace and should be investigated by the courts.
"Albo is running scared and already trying to rig the election," Mr Palmer said.
"In Australia, for too long our people have suffered from a duopoly of power.
"Trumpet of Patriots will bring transparency, common sense policies, and real change to our system,'' Mr Palmer said.
