Together with City of Palmerston, the Lawler Labor Government is funding the Palmerston Youth Festival for the seventh year in a row.
To date $2.1 million of funding has been provided to City of Palmerston to host this iconic Palmerston event.
Over 7000 people attended last year's festival, with new events at the Territory Government supported SWELL set to take part this year.
The program is packed with an exciting lineup of free events and activities spanning seven days from 6 to 12 July 2024. This year's festival promises to be bigger and better, catering to a wide range of interests and celebrating youth culture in the community.
The festival kicks off with the Territory's longest-running Comic Con, Geekfest Top End. The main attraction for this year is 'Konnected,' a futuristic experience that takes participants on a journey through a honeycomb grid, outer space, underwater scenes, and a neon Tron-like world, before returning to the starting grid. This immersive adventure is set to captivate attendees and set the tone for the rest of the festival.
Throughout the week, the festival will feature events celebrating NAIDOC, pride, sports, talent, and wellbeing. Each day is packed with activities designed to engage and inspire young people, providing them with opportunities to explore new interests and showcase their talents.
The festival finishes with the Palmerston Youth Festival Wrap Up Party, an event you won't want to miss. The wrap-up party features an electrifying lineup of performances by DJ sensation CYRIL, young talent CAM.DEN, ex-footballer Mastered, and local rapper Yung Miller. This celebration is the perfect way to end a week of festivities on a high note.
With $25,000 in prizes up for grabs over the seven days, the festival's competitions are a major highlight. From cosplay and Esports to talent shows and raffles, there's something for everyone. Competitions include a mix of pre-registered and random draws, so make sure to check the terms and conditions for each event.
