PARKER presents BODY OF WORK in Hobart as part of Winter Light Festival 2022

Worlds End Public Relations

In 2022 PARKER by Tash Parker will deliver a series of live performance and exhibition shows across the east coast of Australia as a part of her Body of Work tour this 2022.

PARKER fuses music, costume, art and video by smelting the genres of alt-pop, electro and art pop she journeys us through the magic of the unexpected, an otherworldly virtual reality experience and even the banal humanity of breaking up (clue: it's hard to do). Using sound and vision to sculpt and disrupt space, each exhibition and performance in the series reacts explicitly to the venues' architecture– no two are the same.

For the art exhibition iteration of Body of Work (curated in association with Sawtooth ARI) eight video artworks will be displayed with a soundwork crafted using sounds from the album by Parker in collaboration with Jack McLaine, sculpture and more featuring: A Million Suns, Become the Fool, Can't Keep Waiting, Lie Low, Superhuman and 3 unreleased music videos including one virtual reality clip. Each is a collaboration with some combination of technology artists, directors and animators from across the Australia and into Europe including Hans Van Vliet (AU,QLD), Gina Thorstensen (NORWAY), Ursula Woods (AU, Tas) and Jaymis Loveday (AU, QLD) and many more.

PARKER's music draws inspiration from 'crying in the club' ballad mavens like Lykke Li and Sophie Ellis Bextor, to smash out soaring vocals with subdued minor-key dance groove and dancehall-inspired beats. Live shows will also include unreleased works set to become disco mainstays on a dance-floor near you such as 'Good Enough' and 'Single'.

"I write and create work about what is unreal and also happening whether that be about my own relationships and experience in my body or an imagined reality of a space travelling future ancestor." –PARKER

Body of Work commences touring Australia from June 2022 through 2023 with show dates regularly updated via tashparker.com
