City of Parramatta Council has paid tribute to those who have died or suffered in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations on Remembrance Day.
Parramatta and Epping RSL sub-Branches, with the support of Council, hosted public memorials at Prince Alfred Square and Boronia Park on Thursday 11 November, in line with public health orders.
"Remembrance Day is one of Australia's most important national days of commemoration, marking the anniversary of the Armistice that ended the First World War," City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Steven Issa said.
"It was great to see the community this year return in person to mark this important occasion and be given an opportunity to reflect and remember those who have served and sacrificed their lives for our country."
Council has also curated an online archive featuring stories about some of the service personnel from the Parramatta region.
"The courage and determination of these servicemen and women is inspirational, and I encourage everyone to read their stories and honour their memory," Cr Issa said.
