Pawsey Named CEO of AgCarE for Capital Innovation

Mark Pawsey has been announced as the new CEO of AgCarE Services Pty Ltd.

AgCarE is a program that enables agricultural producers to understand, assess, verify and monetise their natural capital assets.

At its core, AgCarE gives landholders the ability to unlock environmental and financial opportunities, empowering producers to get a verifiable value of their natural capital assets and then manage and leverage that.

Mark Pawsey brings extensive agricultural experience to his role as CEO.

He has more than 23 years of experience in the development of agricultural technologies in farmer advisory services, as well as having worked as a stockman on large cattle stations.

Mr Pawsey said he looks forward to leading AgCarE, as it is a valuable tool that empowers farmers in a complex process.

"AgCarE allows a producer to understand the potential of their natural capital," Mr Pawsey said.

"It gives visibility about the base value of natural assets and allows producers to leverage and invest in that natural capital at the property and landscape level."

AgCarE Board Chair Julie-Anne Schafer said Mr Pawsey's experience in launching new operations and growing a solid commercial base for expansion will be of great value while leading AgCarE.

"He is skilled in identifying opportunities in agriculture, and building relationships with farmers, and suppliers alike," Ms Schafer said.

The AgCarE board wishes to express its considerable thanks to Mike Guerin, one of the original architects of AgCarE and a passionate supporter of it.

Ms Schafer acknowledged Mr Guerin's strong contribution as Interim CEO of AgCarE since July 2024.

"Mr Guerin was instrumental in the development of AgCarE since 2019 when the idea first emerged from an AgForce incubator," she said. "He did this while also serving in his ongoing role as CEO of AgForce.

"Mike's commitment and professionalism, together with his deep respect and regard for farmers, has laid a solid foundation on which to build AgCarE's success."

Mr Guerin also commended Mr Pawsey on his appointment as CEO of AgCarE.

"I congratulate Mark Pawsey on his appointment and know his wide experience will be critical in this role as he leads AgCarE into its next chapter," Mr Guerin said.

"I look forward to working with him in my ongoing role as CEO of AgForce. It's the fact that AgCarE was designed by farmers for farmers that makes it such a success."
