A woman has been arrested after she crashed a stolen a car at Mount George earlier today.
Just after 11am today (Monday 15 August), the owner of a Holden utility spotted his vehicle being driven off by a woman after she allegedly stole it from the driveway of a Goodwood Road business. The victim clung to the vehicle for a short time before falling to the ground uninjured.
A short time later, the woman lost control of the utility and crashed into a barrier on the South Eastern Freeway (up-track) at Mount George. The woman fled the scene but was located nearby hiding in dense scrub after she was tracked by PD Duke and his handler.
This was PD Duke's first deployment after graduating last Friday.
The 37-year-old woman from Kurralta Park was charged with illegal use, due care, drive disqualified and state false details. She has been bailed to appear in the Mt Barker Magistrates Court on 28 September.
