Pedestrian And Vehicle Incident At Cairns

Police investigations are continuing following a pedestrian and vehicle incident in Cairns North today, February 29.

Initial investigations suggest just before 8pm, a 76-year-old Manunda man was struck by a BMW 118D on the intersection of James Street and Sheridan Street.

The 55-year-old female driver was uninjured while the man was transported to Cairns Base Hospital with severe leg injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
