Police are investigating a pedestrian collision which left a man with serious injuries in Sydney’s west.
About 6pm yesterday today, a 43-year-old man was driving a Holden Commodore on Nelson Street, Fairfield, when he turned right on to Hardy Street.
As he did so his vehicle struck a 68-year-old man who was on the road.
As a result of the crash the pedestrian suffered from head lacerations and bleeding on the brain. He was taken by Ambulance Paramedics to Liverpool Hospital in a critical but stable condition, NSW Police say.
The 43-year-old driver was taken to Liverpool Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.
Police from Fairfield Local Area Command commenced investigations into the incident.
