Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Hawthorn East late last night.
A 30-year-old male pedestrian was struck by a Honda CR-V SUV on Riversdale Road about 11.10pm.
The Lysterfield South man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver, a 39-year-old Surrey Hills man, stopped at the scene.
