Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision between a pedestrian and a tram in Melbourne on 31 December 2021.
Emergency services were called to a tram stop at the corner of Elizabeth and Victoria streets following the incident about 3.15pm.
Police believe the pedestrian, 71-year-old Flemington man, was attempting to cross the roadway when he was struck.
He was rushed to hospital with critical injuries, but sadly died today.
The driver of the tram stopped to render assistance.
