Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a fatal collision in Kooyong this morning.
Officers were called to reports of an illegal rave in a park on Glenferrie Road.
Upon arrival, police witnessed two pedestrians being struck by a vehicle in a carpark about 1.10am.
One of the pedestrians, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
The second pedestrian, who is yet to be formally identified, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the car was arrested at the scene and will be interviewed by police.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Professional Standards Command will have oversight of the investigation, as per usual practice, where police have been in the vicinity of a fatal collision.
