Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating following a fatal collision in Narre Warren North this afternoon.
It is understood a dark grey Ford ute collided with a Mazda 3 on Belgrave-Hallam Road about 2.45pm.
The ute subsequently collided with a pedestrian.
The yet to be identified male pedestrian died at the scene.
The male driver of the utility was taken to hospital under police guard with non-life-threatening injuries.
The female driver of the Mazda was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and will be spoken to by police.
An investigation into the exact circumstances of the collision is underway.
