Pedestrian dies after crash at Appin

A pedestrian has died following a crash in Sydney's south-west last week.

About 3.30pm on Wednesday 11 October 2023, emergency services were called to the intersection of Church Street and Appin Road, Appin, following reports of a crash.

On arrival, officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command were told that a 13-year-old boy had been struck by a truck after getting on a bus.

The boy was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics on scene before he was taken to the Children's Hospital at Westmead in a critical condition.

The truck driver, a 38-year-old man, was not injured and underwent mandatory testing at Campbelltown Hospital.

A crime scene was established, and investigations commenced into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Police have been notified that the boy has now died in hospital.

Investigations are continuing.
