Pedestrian Dies After Crash At Wollongong

About 7pm today (Friday 30 August 2024), emergency services were called to Flinders Street, Wollongong, following reports a pedestrian had been struck by two cars travelling in opposite directions.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the pedestrian – believed to be a 57-year-old man – however, he died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified.

The drivers of the vehicles - both men aged 66 and 54 - were taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers attached to Wollongong Police District established a crime scene which will be examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.
