Pedestrian dies after Geelong West collision

A pedestrian has died following a collision on Sunday 12 May in Geelong West.

Investigators have been told the man was attempting to cross Shannon Avenue at the intersection of Lascelles Avenue when a north bound vehicle struck him about 5.45pm.

The 68-year-old man was transported to a local hospital but died on 13 May.

The driver of the Audi, a 66-year-old man, was not injured and stopped to assist police after the incident.

Greater Geelong Highway officers are appealing to anyone who saw a man pushing a trolley with a mattress on it just prior to the collision to come forward.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
