Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a fatal collision in Grovedale this morning.
Emergency services were called to reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and pedestrian at Reserve Road about 10.05am.
The pedestrian, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
The motorcyclist, 20-year-old Tarneit man, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries under police guard.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
The road is expected to be closed for several hours as investigators assess the scene.
