Police are investigating after a pedestrian was hit in Camperdown this afternoon, NSW Police say.
Emergency services were called to City Road, near the intersection of Cleveland Street, about 2.40pm today.
Initial investigations suggest a man, believed to aged in his 40s, got off a bus before he was struck by a truck travelling south on City Road.
He was treated at the scene by Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the truck was not injured during the incident. He has also been taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.
Two lanes of City Road have been closed southbound as investigations take place. Officers are urging drivers to avoid the area if possible.
A crime scene has been established and investigations are continuing.
