Pedestrian Injured After Being Hit By Car At Ryde

A pedestrian has been hit by a car in Sydney's west today.

About 9:30am (Friday 12 July 2024), emergency services were called to the intersection of Wishart Street and Graham Avenue, Ryde, following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car.

The driver of the car, a 48-year-old man, stopped and assisted the pedestrian.

The pedestrian – a 75-year-old man – was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

The driver was subjected to a roadside drug test which returned a positive result. He was arrested and taken to Gladesville Police Station before being taken to Ryde Hospital for further testing.

Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit are conducting inquiries into the incident.
