A male pedestrian has been killed, following a crash in the State's Illawarra region.
About 10.45am today (Tuesday 28 May 2024), emergency services were called to Lakelands Drive, Dapto, following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car.
Members of the public and police officers commenced CPR, before the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he was unable to be revived.
The man – believed to be in his 70s - is yet to be formally identified.
The driver – a 43-year-old female – was treated by NSW Ambulance for shock.
She was taken to Wollongong Hospital for mandatory testing.
Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District responded and established a crime scene. Crash Investigation Unit have commenced an investigation.
