Pennington Arson Arrest

A woman has been arrested after a business arson at Pennington last month.

About 4.30am on Tuesday 15 October, police and emergency services were called to a gift shop on the corner of Addison Road and Wynette Street after reports of a fire.

The business was extensively damaged.

The arson was investigated by Western District detectives in conjunction with officers from Operation Eclipse.

Yesterday (Wednesday 6 November), police arrested a 24-year-old woman from Lyndoch and charged her with arson.

She was remanded in custody to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today (Thursday 7 November).

The investigation is ongoing with further arrests anticipated.

Detective Chief Inspector Brett Featherby of Operation Eclipse says, "This arrest demonstrates SAPOL's commitment to relentlessly investigate arson and offenses of violence and hold those responsible to account.

Anyone with information regarding arsons or offences of violence relating to Operation Eclipse are asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000."
