Perth City Honours National Reconciliation Week 2024

As the City gears up to commemorate National Reconciliation Week starting today (27 May to 3 June), it's an opportune time to reflect on the significance of this period.

It is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories and cultures, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

The theme for this year is Now More Than Ever - a strong reminder that the fight continues for justice and the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

These are some ways you can get involved in National Reconciliation Week:

  • Check out the City of Perth Library National Reconciliation Week bookmarks. The bookmarks are based on the Ngalang Boorloo (Our Perth) artwork by Hayley Thompson, which also features on some of the City's new uniforms.
  • Hear from Elders during the Reconciliation Yarns at Kaarta Koomba (Kings Park).
  • Join the Perth community on the Walk for Reconciliation this Friday 31 May.
  • Read the City of Perth's Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan
