The competition courses have been announced for the 2025 AusCycling Road National Championships, which will be held in Perth early next year for the first time since 1997.

Thousands of elite cyclists are set to race across Kings Park, Northbridge and Perth CBD in January as part of the prestigious cycling event, which has been secured by the Western Australian Government for the next three years.

The Championship includes three events - time trials; a criterium event, which is a bike race consisting of several laps around a close circuit; and a road race.

The time trials will run from 8-9 January and follow a 9.8-kilometre circuit through Bold Park, with elite men completing four laps (39.2km) and elite women completing three laps (29.4km).

A 1.3km technical street circuit through Northbridge will be set up for the criterium event on 10 January, which will also be on display for attendees to enjoy through a broadcast on the Northbridge Piazza's outdoor LED screen.

The national road race - the pinnacle event - will round out the championships from 11-12 January, starting and finishing in Perth's iconic Kings Park and weaving through the heart of the CBD and alongside the Swan River in a 13.6km circuit.

It's the first time in nearly 20 years the prestigious event has been held outside Victoria, and is expected to attract close to 20,000 visitors to Western Australia over the three years, generating tens of millions of dollars into the local economy.
