Thousands of motorsport enthusiasts are in for an exciting weekend of racing, with the Bosch Power Tools Perth SuperSprint kicking off tomorrow at CARCO Raceway.
The race is a Repco Supercars Championship event, and one of 12 racing events nationwide showcasing 24 drivers and 11 teams at each.
The 2024 event marks the 45th year of the Supercars Championship, formally known as the Australian Touring Car Championship, at Perth's top motorsport venue and is expected to attract around 30,000 attendees from across Western Australia and out-of-state.
The SuperSprint format showcases high-performance supercars in a 55-lap (133-kilometre) race on both Saturday and Sunday, with supporting events including the Dunlop Series, Radical Cup, Aussie Racing Cars and the Historic Touring Car Masters.
Perth's own Supercars champion, Brodie Kostecki, is back on home turf for the first time since claiming his inaugural title and becoming the second driver in history from Western Australia to win a Supercars Championship.
Aaron Love, who also hails from Perth, will have his first home appearance in the Repco Supercars Championship at the Wanneroo circuit, while Andre Heimgartner - a New Zealand race winner who now calls Perth home - aims to build on his recent momentous win in Taup.
Tickets to the event include free public transport on the Transperth rail network during the weekend and a free shuttle bus will operate at regular intervals from Clarkson Station to and from the track on Saturday and Sunday.
CARCO Raceway currently holds the record for hosting the highest number of races in Australian Touring Championship history, and this year will see its 96th and 97th race take place at the venue.
