Australia's Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Teams will be celebrated next week with a welcome home event hosted in Forrest Place.
Olympians and Paralympians from Western Australia will attend the event on Saturday 14 September from 12pm and everyone's invited to the party.
Everyone's invited to Forrest Place on Saturday 14 September from 12pm for a chance to meet their favourite West Aussie athletes and enjoy Parisian-inspired entertainment.
City of Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said the celebration would give the people of Perth the chance to acknowledge the incredible performances of our local Paris 2024 Olympians and Paralympians.
"The Welcome Home event in Forrest Place gives all West Australians the opportunity to celebrate the extraordinary achievements of our Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Teams and Australia's most successful Olympic games yet," he said.
"We're honoured to host such a significant event, alongside the State Government and encourage everyone to head to Forrest Place, enjoy the vibrant Parisian-themed entertainment and celebrate the very best of Australian sport."
Australia's Paris 2024 Olympians brought home a total of 53 medals across both individual and team events.
Australian Olympic Committee CEO, Matt Carroll said "We thank the Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas and the City of Perth for their support of this welcome home event for the Australian Olympic and Paralympic Teams.
For the first time we're excited to welcome home the Australian Olympic Team and the Australian Paralympic Team in joint events bringing together the two Teams in celebration after the Paris Games.
The series of welcome home events across the nation are something for all Australians to honour their athletes in representing Australia and inspiring us all. We're excited to bring the entire community together in celebration of our athletes, united by the power of sport."
Paralympians who call Western Australia home or are based here to train are currently still competing in France and will join the festivities just days after the Paralympics concludes.
Paralympics Australia Interim Chief Executive Officer Cameron Murray said "These welcome home events are a chance for our athletes to say thank you and to bring the message home that great things happen through sport.
"Our elite athletes across our Paralympic and Olympic teams have united the nation through their performances, but they've also reminded us that all Australians deserve access to sport and the many positive outcomes it delivers, especially for the 20 percent of Australians who live with a disability."
The formal celebrations will start at 12pm in Forrest Place, followed by a meet-and greet and signing opportunities.
