Perth Wounding Charges

Perth Detectives have charged a 25-year-old man in relation to an incident that occurred in the CBD on Wednesday, 8 May 2024.

About 5am, the victim – a 29-year-old homeless man – was asleep inside a sleeping bag on St Georges Terrace.

It will be alleged; the accused approached the victim and, without provocation, stabbed him twice.

The victim suffered puncture wounds to his back and was conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.

About 11.30am on Friday, 17 May, officers located the accused on Lord Street.

He was arrested and charged with one count of 'With Intent to Harm, Did an Act Causing Bodily Harm'.

The 25-year-old Ashfield man is next due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on 21 May 2024.
