Pillion Passenger Dies After Crash - North St Marys

A man has died in hospital following a two-vehicle crash in Sydney's northwest last week.

Just after 6.00pm on Monday 26 August 2024, emergency services were called to Kurrajong Road, North St Marys, following reports of a two-vehicle crash involving a trail bike.

Officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command were told a silver Honda hatchback and a trail bike collided.

The rider - a 19-year-old man - was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics with injuries in his ankle and knee before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

His pillion passenger - a 20-year-old man - was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics with head, chest and spinal injuries before being taken to the same hospital in a critical condition.

The driver of hatchback - a 25-year-old man - was not injured and he was taken to the same hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the incident commenced.

About 12.30pm on Wednesday 28 August 2024, police received notification that the 20-year-old pillion passenger had passed away at hospital.
