During the month of August and September, Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) is putting a call out to tradies across Australia, asking them to pink up at work, host a fundraising event, and start a conversation with their workmates around breast cancer to support the 20,030 Australians expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer this year.
This year's Pink Tradie ambassador is local Mourilyan, QLD apprentice boiler maker Matt Cutuli who lost his beloved Nanna, Lorraine, to breast cancer three years ago. Lorraine was a passionate advocate for BCNA and supported many people in her community that were going through their breast cancer treatment.
"She was a massive inspiration to everyone that met her and especially to me in the respect she had for everyone she met. I am doing this in her honour because although I will never be able to fill her boots, I know she would be proud of me".
Matt is calling on fellow tradies across Australia to join him by hosting an event whether it be a morning tea, BBQ at work, golf day, trivia night, or even a head shave. Pink Tradie merchandise is also available on our website https://www.bcna.org.au/news-events/hold-an-event/pink-tradie-2021/ and this year we have introduced a Pink Tradie beanie to keep you warm onsite during winter.
Every photo posted to social media wearing BCNA merchandise and using the hashtag #BCNApinktradie from 9 August – 30 September, will go into the draw to win one of three $500 gift cards from our campaign supporters Middy's Electrical.
