Armidale War Memorial Library opened its doors this week and many residents have noticed changes to the layout.
Some adjustments are being made to the library to allow for the creation of more open spaces and a community living room to accommodate a variety of programs, events and exhibitions.
As part of the library renovations, all shelving one the lower floor will be replaced with purpose built mobile shelving to allow for the units to be moved around and compliment the modern aesthetic. The new shelving is expected to arrive this month and it's anticipated the library will close from Monday 27 September and reopen Tuesday 5 October, to allow for installation of the shelving.
The renovations have been made possible through the NSW Government Library Infrastructure Grant funding and the Federal Government's Drought Communities Programme.
