A redesign of the Planning and Development page on Orange City Council's website has made it easier for people to find the information they need to know when building or developing in Orange.
The new Planning and Development page has been extensively redeveloped and is now divided into six sections:
- Planning: An A-Z guide on all project types, from simple structures to considerations such as asbestos.
- Engineering: Provides key details on subdivisions, road openings, flood management and more.
- Building: A guide to requirements before, during and after construction.
- Application Process: Simple steps for each development type and owner obligations.
- Planning and Building News: Updates on policy changes, council news and recent approvals.
- How Can We Help: Links to resources, support, and contact options for further assistance.
Orange Mayor Tony Mileto said the website offered the most up-to-date information on building and development in Orange and focused on answering common questions asked by people when building or developing their properties.
"If you are planning to build or develop in Orange it's a good idea to check if you need Council approval," Cr Mileto said.
"We understand that navigating this process can feel overwhelming, so this update to Council's website aims to provide clear and accessible information about the various ways we can help you throughout the process"
The redesigned page considers planning and development from the user's point of view and guides them through every stage of the process, regardless of the project type.
The streamlined process will help users prepare their applications as efficiently as possible.
It's even mobile-friendly, meaning people can check the website, request a meeting, lodge an application or apply for certificates online at any time.
