More than eleven thousand seedlings were planted at Bullsbrook Recycling Centre over the weekend.
Over 75 volunteers turned up to help plant trees and native plants, with more planting set to take place in the coming years once the trees are large enough to protect the area.
City of Swan Mayor Kevin Bailey congratulated the volunteers for the mammoth effort to help the environment and their community.
"The work of our environmental volunteers is incredibly important - as well as strengthening our environment, it directly helps wildlife because native plants provide shelter and food," he said.
"Kids and adults can get involved, and I encourage everyone to try a one-off tree planting conservation day in your local area."
The planting project is supported by the City of Swan, Tronox, North Swan Land Conservation District Committee and Chittering Landcare Centre.
Seedlings were provided by the Federal Government's Communities Environment Program, which supports community groups to address local environmental priorities.
