Poetry In Motion At Slam Competition

The hunt is on for spoken word poets to represent the City of Logan.
Spoken word artist and poet Angela Peita will host the Logan heat of the Queensland Slam Poetry State Final.

Two spoken word performers are needed to represent the City of Logan in the Queensland Slam Poetry State Final in October.

Logan Libraries is partnering with Word Travels to select the local representatives during the 2024 City of Logan heat this Thursday (September 19) at the Butterbox Theatre in the Kingston Butter Factory Cultural Precinct.

A slam workshop before the heat from 3.30pm to 5pm will help participants fine tune their poems.

Anyone aged 16 and over can register and take part in the slam which runs from 6.30pm until 9pm.

Audience members also need to register and will be encouraged to be guest judges.

The MC and guest performer for the night is spoken word artist and poet Angela Peita.
