Police appeal for information from the public, SA

An appeal for information is being made by police investigating the death of 18-year-old Lochlan Mortimer-Shearer earlier this year, according to SA Police.

Police are preparing a report for the State Coroner into the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr Mortimer-Shearer whose body was found by a member of the public at Dry Creek on 14 July.

Three weeks early – at 3.35am on Tuesday 21 June – police believe Mr Mortimer-Shearer was in a vehicle that was involved in a crash on the Port River Expressway.

Police are seeking assistance from the public who may have been in the area at the time and saw the white Nissan Skyline travelling east along the Port River Expressway.

The vehicle is believed to have been travelling at high speed, and could have been on the wrong side of the road without its headlights operating.

Police are also keen to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the driver and/or occupant(s) leaving the area after the vehicle came to rest against a concrete wall under the Pt Wakefield/Pt River Expressway overpass.

Mr Mortimer-Shearer was reported missing by his family on 22 June and was the subject of a police missing persons investigation.

Anyone with information that may assist, or who saw the vehicle that morning, is urged to contact police by either calling Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or reporting online at https://crimestopperssa.com.au/
