Police Appeal For Witnesses After Fatal Merrigum Crash

Shepparton Highway Patrol officers are appealing for public assistance as they continue to investigate a fatal crash in Merrigum last week.

Emergency services were called to reports a car had crashed into a tree on Ryan Road, between Fenaughty and Ford roads, about 12.45pm on Friday, 14 June.

The vehicle caught fire following the crash, and was extinguished by firefighters.

The driver, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.

Police believe a dark red small hatch was parked near the crash about 1.20pm, before driving south along Ryan Road.

Investigators are appealing for the driver of the red vehicle, or anyone else who witnessed the collision, to contact Crime Stoppers as they may be able to assist with enquiries.
